For many years the District has been fighting uphill battles to financially support its planned programs and projects, hence have not implemented many of the plans effectively. Our partners, particularly the churches and civil society organizations, and donors have stepped up to support in areas where the Government could not support. It is for this reason that their involvement is strategized to continue to seek their support in areas we will not adequately provide. The key objective of KRA # 5 is basically to strengthen the relations with the key partners, establish common grounds to work with and leverage fund sources to support the implementation of this Plan. It cross-cuts its affiliation into almost all the KRAs of the MTDP III as partners and key supporters in implementing all aspects of the KRAs of the District, hence only notable alignment codes are stated in the tables below.
Increase Partnership Participation Goal 1: Strengthen the Development and Donor Partnerships
This goal is about fostering stronger and decisive leadership in driving the aid program forward to achieve sustainable economic growth in the District. There are five key donor partners (Australia, Japan, China, South Korea and New Zealand) that our country receives bilateral development assistances and various multilateral donors (UN Systems, WHO, FAO, World Bank, European Union, ADB, etc.) Funding is often channelled through CSOs, private foundations and sector specific programs.
Increase Partnership Participation Goal 2: Strengthen the Churches Partnerships
The primary objective is to increase effective health, education and community service delivery through a close and sustainable partnership with the churches in the District. They have contributed to the development of the District for many decades and continue to play an important role in building our District by fostering spiritual, social and economic growth especially in the rural wards and communities where the majority of the population live but where Government services are either inadequate or lacking.
Increase Partnership Participation Goal 3: Strengthen the CSOs Partnerships
The objective is to provide sustainable partnership in service delivery. The CSOs provide basic services to communities, address many development issues and conduct key awareness on many cross-cutting issues such as HIV/AIDS, consumption of drugs and home brew, and law and order.
