The 2021 Kerowagi Coffee Cup season officially wrapped up on the weekend with the Dage Tigers and Kimagle Border Roosters winning the respective Men’s and Women’s titles on offer.

Based out of the Ker District in Papua New Guinea’s Chimbu Province, the Kerowagi Coffee Cup featured 22 clubs taking part in the Men’s, Women’s and Under 20’s competitions.

Originally starting as a 13-a-side competition, the ongoing impact of COVID-19 forced organisers to change the Finals Series into a nine-a-side competition to ensure a winner was announced for 2021.

In the Men’s Final, Dage Tigers halfback, Joe Siune, scored the match-winning converted try in extra time to help his side beat Barawagi Downtown Cowboys 18-12.

In the Men’s third place play-off, the Kimagle Jets Lime Cats 12 – 4.

In the Women’s competition, the Kimagle Border Roosters defeated the Lime Cats 4 – 0 whilst in the third place play-off, the Kondiu Titans and Narku shared the honours with a 4 – all draw.
